PORSCHE 911 GT3RS (2017)- HAS THE TRACK MONSTER GOT BETTER?

When someone asks me the meaning of ‘versatile’, I explain them the 911 range.

For people who need a smooth straight six, fantastic ride and comfortable cruising, the Carrera is an ideal choice.

For those who need sheer adrenaline and tidy handling as well as an ‘I don’t buy Ferraris’ attitude, Turbo and Turbo S are fantastic investments.

Finally, we have the GT3RS, the GODFATHER . A car people cherish for its unadulterated, pure, unfiltered driving pleasure on the track.

Over the years it has changed very little, keeping the basic recipe intact, LIGHT WEIGHT, HEAVY PUNCH. There is slight power upgrade up to 500 brake horsepower and torque is a satisfying 338 pounds foot. The power is identical to the ULTRA RARE Porsche 911 R.

Rear wheel steer, dynamic engine mounts and Porsche certified torque vectoring makes the RS a compelling package, as it always was. The real wheel drive system is as electric and alive as ever, making the driver, the epicenter of the driving experience.

THE DOWNFORCE IS WITH THE GT3RS, THAT’S FOR SURE, a maximum of 200kg at speed, thanks to the humungous rear wing. 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds and top speed of 193 mph is truly fantastic for a track focused war machine. The PDK transmission is seamless and feels as natural as a manual while being slightly faster.

But at the end of the day, specifications come secondary to the bare feel of the car. When it comes to feel, the GT3RS aces it, be it Spa De Francorchamps or Monza, it will make you feel special. That is the very feeling true enthusiasts yearn for.

*By the way friends, I do not drive the cars I talk about, I just give my opinion 🙂

  3. Hi Shaunak.
This is a good beginning. Pleased to read the blog. Even though I am zero in knowledge on cars particularly the zooming ones, it kept me interested. I got to know some new things. I have forwarded the link to two of my relatives who are in this line and my son who is a follower of F1 💫.
Any blog with depth and research will attract readers. Put them on Auto sector circuits and you will see good feedback.
My best wishes are always with you. Carry on the good work.
